Beyond the Gates of Antares is the latest sci-fi hotness from Rick Priestley and Warlord Games. I enjoy playing Bolt Action tremendously and as I find the Antares miniatures rather cool, picking up the starter box was a no-brainer.
The Ghar are the faction of my choice and here's some photos of my first two squads.

The painting process was a bit of an experimentation as I didn't really have a clear plan what to do. I settled for the grey colour scheme and started with that.
The paints I used for the base colour are from the AK Interactive range. I used their three different shades Dunkelgrau over a neutral grey primer working all the way up to pure white higlights. I did a pin wash for all the grooves with an enamel wash and some clean up work with a brush.
For the effect colour I originally thought about using either red or pink, but neither really felt right to use with the panzer grey base colour so I opted for the turquoise. As it's not so strong colour, I first airbrushed the chosen areas white and then sprayed the turquoise colour in couple of very thin layers.

To give some variety I painted round things on the top armour amber and the canisters in the Plasma Claws with amber/orange.
